The FORKED RIVER TUNA CLUB is a private, not-for-profit organization formed to foster and promote:
  • (a) skill in the sport of yachting, boating, hunting and fishing as well as sportsmanlike conduct in these pursuits.
  • (b) skill and proficiency in the handling of yachts, boats and hunting equipment.
  • (c) healthful, social and recreational activities.

Although the FRTC dates back to the 1930's, The current organization was incorporated in 1956 and is one of the charter members of the U.S.A.T.T. As a conservationist, recreational entity, the FRTC is also a member of the Jersey Coast Anglers Association. Throughout the course of each boating season, a number of activities are offered which are open to the public and are designed to further the sport and enjoyment to be found on the water such as:

  • (a) a series of seminars held each spring designed to educate anglers on a variety of fishing techniques. The very best local talent available brings expert information to those in attendance.
  • (b) a series of fishing tournaments and post-fishing activities covering sharks, tuna, bluefish, fluke and striped bass.
  • (c) a Girls' CATCH OF THE DAY Tournament which promotes fishing and its social benefits in a female environment. (Yes, males can help but, only if they're invited.)
  • (d) summer "raft-ups" and fleet cruise activities.

The club has social events throughout the year. The club sports a bar, dining room/dance floor, kitchen and grounds for the enjoyment of its membership and guests. Those interested in partaking of open-to-the-public events are encouraged to contact the club at 609-693-5353, Friday evenings after 8PM.

The FRTC membership requires the applicant be sponsored by two club members. If you know a member, ask them for application or you pick one up at the club. Stop by the club any Friday evening, 8PM to 11PM. Due to ABC regulations you must sign our guest book. Introduce yourself to Dave, our bartender, and let him know that your interested in membership.

Meetings are held the fourth Friday of the month at 7:30PM throughout the year.  The Club is located on Bay Avenue north of the Forked River State Marina,  about quarter mile east of Route 9.
